September 1, 2009
The Rotary Club of Marshall meets each Tuesday
at noon at the Marshall Golf Club.

Jo Coover and Deb Boulton

Jo Coover speaks on H1N1 Virus
Our thanks to Deb Boulton for inviting Jo Coover to speak to the club about the H1N1 virus and the steps being taken to protect the community from a potential pandemic.  Jo provided information about the symptoms of the virus, and the steps that can be taken to create preparedness plans for both business and family safety. Jo is the infection prevention and staff health nurse at Avera Marshall.  Our thanks for a thought provoking program!

Upcoming Program
Next week's program will be introduced by Howard Bromen.  Our speaker will be Dr. Paul Martin, who will discuss trends in heath care professions.

Week 7 Raffle Winners
Steve Strautz (sold by Steve Strautz)
Jerry Huber (sold by Jerry Huber)
Rod Vanderziel (sold by Carol Noble)

Note:  There can be up to 4 winning raffle tickets each week.  Because not all raffle books were sold, if winning books were not sold, the club will retain that week's prize money in the raffle fund.

Guests
Guest of the Rotary Club of Marshall was Rick Bot from the Minneota Club.

District Conference Recap
Don McLaughlin recapped the District Convention held last weekend in Vermillion.   Don attended his 32nd conference as a Rotarian, and reminded the club that these meetings are not just for club officers, but are open to all Rotary members.  They provide the opportunity to hear excellent speakers who provide inspiration to all those attending.  The 2010 conference will be held in Sioux Falls, SD.

Welcome New Member!
Welcome to Josh Winselman, who was inducted on July 28.  Josh is a native of Adrian, and has joined the Chuck Fennell Agency.  Welcome Josh!
